Thijs Logistics is moving to a whole new location! The developments of HC Group and Thijs Logistics are a major step for the logistic center of Europe.
The relocation of Thijs Logistiek
Thijs Logistiek has decided that it is time for sustainability and relocation. Following this strategic move, e-Fulfillment Hub as a partner decided to ask a number of questions related to this. Director of Thijs Logistiek, Marius Verschuuren, responded to our question about the reason for the move. “We were working more and more efficiently and due to growth the existing accommodation had become too small. Due to our specific wishes (a lot of X-dock) we looked for possible solutions.” – The next step for Thijs Logistiek was to develop the new warehouse.
Benefits of the relocation for costumer and Thijs Logistics
Firstly, it is possible to work more efficiently because the location is much larger and new than the old location.
Secondly, the location is integrated with HC Group’s e-warehouse system, which prevents idle time.
Thirdly, Thijs Logistiek’s organization is now centered on one location, which provides a better overview, which leads to more efficient management.
Fourthly, the number of pallet places for the storage of hazardous substances has increased by 650% from 500 to 3500 pallet places. Finally, the building is sustainable. Thijs Logistiek is very environmentally conscious and is also supported in this by e-Fulfillment Hub.
About the expansion of HC Group
HC Group will have new premises from 31 January. In 2021 it turned out that the current warehouse would become full by the end of the year. For this reason, action has been taken to be able to grow with customers and to make more space available for the future.
This resulted in the lease of part of the new DHL distribution warehouse in Weert. This adds an area to the current warehouse which adds up to 40,000 m2. As a sustainable fulfillment organization, e-Fulfillment Hub is pleased with this expansion of our partner. The new building has been developed with excellent sustainability features.
For example, the distribution center is fully electric and has been developed with great attention to an optimal climate and comfort for all users of this building. In addition, much attention is paid to green and ecological facilities. This gives it a BREEAM-NL score of 4 stars out of 5.
