World Environment Day
Saturday the 5th of June is World Environment Day. On this day, environmental issues are addressed around the world. The aim is to make people aware of the importance of the environment for our world, and to let you know what we can do to protect the environment.
What is World Environment Day?
The United Nations (UN) has held World Environment Day every year since 1974. That is why the United Nations wants the government and its people to consider the impact of the environment on our well-being. The organization also wants to provide information about what we can do to protect the environment.
Restoring the ecosystem
The theme for 2021 was the restoration of ecosystems. Thanks to modern science and technology, people can change their living environment in many ways. This is happening on a very large scale. However, this environment affects human well-being and economic development around the world. This year they focus on general environmental awareness with “limits to growth”.
Big challenge
Protecting and improving the environment is very important. But that is also a big challenge. World Environment Day calls for responsible action by individuals, companies and governments in preserving and improving the environment. As an e-Fulfilment Hub, we also find the environment very important as a sustainable fulfillment partner. For this reason, we are working on innovative projects in the Living Lab Green Fulfillment to make logistics more sustainable. An example of this is our newly developed CO2 emissions tool that allows your customer to view the CO2 emissions of the order before ordering.
International Environmental Conference
The first international environmental conference was held on June 5, 1972. This is known as the United Nations Environment Programme. Each year meetings are held in a different country, last year this was in Pakistan. E-Fulfilment Hub contributes to the environment with sustainable solutions for webshops.
